I'm beat, tired, sore, happy

This is what I've been up to:

We tilled yesterday, put in furrows last night and this morning, and began planting this afternoon and evening. I took a vacation day from work and will continue after work all week. I'll have totals on Friday.

It's cold, cold here. When I went out to furrow this morning it was 55 f. There is talk of getting near freezing tonight. We're not that far north!

Made cheese and bread as well today. Took a loaf of bread over to the garden owners. Chibi was dissapointed we didn't need any wheat ground - we used the last of what they had energetically ground earlier.

Holy tamale, that is a HUGE plot! You weren't kidding.

Oh, we can't even get it into a photo what a huge plot it is. In the small section we planted 60 tomatoes, 40 peppers, a flat of cucumbers (pickling and otherwise), 14 watermellon, and various and assundry things that have been around (celary, brussels sprouts, onions...).

I'm very impressed!! And look at you go with that plow. My Granny's was too far gone for any use, though I do have some of her other manual garden tools that are still usable. Thanks for your comment on my blog entry about my Granny - she was able to talk just a little about gardening and canning yesterday; she doesn't remember much of the specifics but she remembers that it's something she used to do.

Oh my gosh. I think that picture comes up when you look up "back-breaking work" in the dictionary. Wowza!

Thanks, you all make me laugh. It's coming along nicely though. Now, I hope weather and other factors fall into place.
