Hoppy Easter Monday

On Good Friday the birds arrived again. It was so noticable to suddenly have bird song. Even thought the weather has been snowy and sleeting for the last week suddenly on Easter the sun came out and things were green and the trees had buds and of course the tulips and dafodills had been blooming. Spring was pushing through and the weather wasn't going to hold it back.

After two church services that began in the dark of morning with a new fire, and continuing through noon time, and after a nap, the bunns got out to explore the spring. You can't see it in the photos but there is a carpet of new mint coming up and even some dandilions.

I havn't posted photos of these guys before. These guys are 4 months old. The fawn is Tiffany and the white is Pooka. Pooka came down with snuffles and her growth has been stunted.

WHAT ARE "SNUFFLES"?

It is a respratory problem in rabbits. They carry it in thier noses and when stressed get sick. It looks like a cold but it pretty hard on the little guys. It must be bacterial because it responds well to antibiotics.

Will Pooka be always stunted? or can she catch up? Tiffany has quite the tail. What is their supposed adult weight? 15 pounds? or bigger!!!!?????

Tara, those are fabric harnesses with velcro. The back yard is secrure and Beatrice goes out on her own but it's best if they don't get to running off and feel like their beign chased.

Dianna,

Tiffany could get to be over 20 lbs - she has the genetics for it. Pooka will likely be more around the 15lb. mark. Beatrice is currently a skinny 14 lbs.

Hi there :) D. Moll mentioned your blog when discussing the use of Mercurium for dental abscesses in rabbits (one of my rabbits just had his incisors extracted and he has an abscess at the root of one incisor). I'm most interested in this remedy and I'm going to go through your blog to see what you have written about it :) Just wanted to drop a note to say hi first, and what cute bunnies you have! I love flemmies but I've never seen any here in Malaysia.

Furrybutts, wow Malaysia. Yes I had excellent results with Mercurium for general abcesses in a rabbit. My husband also have very good luck using it for a dental abcess years ago (with no return).

For the rabbit, I put a few in her drinking water each day.

Is that a tatoo in Pooka's ear?
